WILMINGTON (March 13, 2008) – The Wilmington HOPE Commission will host the HOPE Outreach Workers Graduation Ceremony on Monday, March 17, 2008 at the Chase Center on the Riverfront from 6:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. The HOPE Commission, in coordination with RAB Consulting, Inc., implemented a three-month series of community outreach workshops aimed at addressing the City of Wilmington’s violence and drug-related issues. Participants who completed the series’ core curriculum will receive a certificate of achievement noting their status as a HOPE Outreach Worker.

The workshop strategy was designed to equip community residents with the tools and resources to serve as a compliment the Commission’s ongoing youth outreach and violence prevention efforts. Workshops on a variety of topics such as “Police and Community Sensitivity” and “Gangs” were offered free-of-charge to interested residents and facilitated by a team of RAB consultants, educators, police officers, and community leaders.
